Regina makeup artist extraordinaire, Sara Lindsay,  just sent me a couple of photos of  part of the Saskatchewan Fashion Week creative team, taken yesterday in Saskatoon -- rubbing elbows with celebrities!

They spent yesterday afternoon, which was launch day for the province's first fashion week, taking care of Shannon Tweed's family, doing their hair and makeup. And later in the evening, they spent time doing last-minute touchups for Shannon and her family.

Winning the lottery

Mai 8, 2012

Reblogged from Shambolic Living:

Well the 70 million dollar jackpot went off last night. Three people managed to get almost 25 million dollars each. I'm still clinging to the notion that I could be one of them. One was from New South Wales and my mobile phone isn't charged so the lottery people could have tried to contact me while I ate chocolate, watched Missing and went to bed way too late.

I am grateful for choices.

As adults, we all get to make choices everyday from how to spend the next 30 minutes to what to where we want to live. We aren't always cognizant of our choices but they are there and sometimes, as Americans, choice becomes overwhelming. Sometimes it would be easier if someone else could make choices for us once in awhile.

What are we leaving for others?

Mai 8, 2012

Reblogged from pinkbriefcase:

So I made this cake for my coworkers today. It was a cake mix-overhaul lemon blueberry pound cake. And it was literally delicious. My approximately one dozen officemates ate 90% of two loaf cakes in 8 hours, so I know it was good.

I packed up the rest and walked out the door toward the metro. I was just debating whether there was enough left to wrap up for a friend finishing finals or if I should leave it for H when a homeless woman called out to me: can you give me some food?

Myrmidons

I love the London Economist because I run across words I've never seen before - never mind knowing the meaning.

Today's word: myrmidon.

Look it up on Google, or tune in tomorrow and I'll tell you the meaning. :)

Tanning. It's one of those things that millions of us do. Be it in natural sunlight, or under artifitial rays of a Tanning Bed. I personally know of tanners. Mainly of the "fake sun" kind. But I will give them all this, they sure as hell do NOT look like this um... lady(??).

Meet Patricia Krentcil, an (what I would call) "extreme tanner" and mother to a five-year-old daughter.
